Here at Northampton Leisure Trust we currently manage six leisure facilities across Northampton • Berzerk Children’s Activity Centre • Cripps Recreation Centre • Danes Camp Leisure Centre • Duston Sports Centre • Lings Forum Leisure Centre & the Forum Cinema • Mounts Baths. We have a Sport, Play & Health Development Team who deliver activities in the local communities and within our facilities. We also own a stand-alone gym in Peterborough - Trilogy Peteborough. Leisure Centre Supervisor 

 
We are looking for a dynamic and skilled individual to join our expanding team. You will work on a rotating shift pattern covering days, evening and weekends, being responsible of the operational management of the Centre, including safety, customer care and leading and managing staff. 
 
If you’re looking for a desk job, this isn’t the job for you as there is no such thing as a typical day as a Leisure Centre Supervisor. That’s what makes the role so unique. You will need a flexible approach as you could be doing anything from unlocking the centre and setting up, to ordering supplies and checking everything is perfect for our customers. Once the day is in full swing you’ll ensure it’s all running as it should be – handling customer’s queries, managing your team and ensuring the successful operation of the Centre. 
 
If you’re a fast thinker who’s calm under pressure, responsible and a natural with people, this is your chance to shine as a Leisure Centre Supervisor. We also look for integrity, can do attitude, health & safety knowledge and a customer service focus. Ideally you will already hold qualifications such as NPLQ, First Aid at Work and Pool Plant Operator, or will be committed to obtaining these qualification within the first 6 months of employment. 
 
You will need to be a good communicator and have strong leadership skills to drive, lead and motivate a team of staff. It will be your focus to ensure that you and your team are motivated and are effectively delivering the programme of activities at the centre.

Recreation Assistant (Lifeguard)

You will need strong communication skills to enthusiastically engage with our members, providing great customer service, along with the ability to act on your own initiative and as part of a team.

Play Scheme Staff - Assistants & Supervisors

We’re looking to recruit playscheme staff to supervise and assist in the delivery of our busy holiday playschemes. 
 
What you need to show us: 
 
- Commitment to the role. 
 
- Strong communication skills. 
 
- Willingness to travel around Northampton in order to carry out work. A driving license is desirable but not essential. 
 
- A positive attitude towards work and our customers. 
 
- Be willing to undertake a DBS disclosure. 
 
Playscheme Supervisor’s should: 
 
- Have at least 2 years’ experience of working with children and young people. 
 
- Ideally hold a level 3 qualification in Childcare, Playwork, Early Years or Teaching. 
 
- Hold a full and current Paediatric First Aid Certificate. 
 
- Be responsible for ensuring that all Health, Safety and Ofsted requirements are maintained at all times within the schemes.

Casual Lead & Assistant Skating Marshals / Stewards 

We are looking to recruit Lead and Assistant Skating Marshals / Stewards for our popular and expanding family roller skating and after school sessions. Sessions run every Wednesday 4.15-5pm (term time only) plus Saturday 5-7pm and Sunday 10.15-1.30pm at Danes Camp Leisure Centre. All candidates must be confident and capable skaters. 
 
What we would need you to do: 
 
Supervise all participants whilst on and off of the skating rink 
Ensure all skaters follow the Skating Rules at all times 
Assist and support beginner skaters when appropriate 
Supervise and lead on all game 
Assist with skate hire as required 
Have strong interpersonal and communication skills

Swimming Instructors 

 
We are looking for qualified swimming teachers, baby & preschool teachers and assistants to help deliver our successful swimming lesson programs across 4 busy leisure centres in Northampton. 
 
We currently have over 4,000 children learning to swim each week. 
 
Following the Swim England’s (formerly ASA) Learn to Swim Framework you will be responsible for the delivery of lessons from pre-school to our development squad. You are not expected to teach all levels unless you wish to. 
 
You will be required to deliver safe, consistent lessons, give out awards & use our swim portal technology (Cap 2) . Dedicated and energetic, you’ll be a Swim England (ASA) qualified teacher or STA qualified and be familiar with the National Teaching Plan, as well as health & safety aware. Friendly, patient and with the ability to motivate pupils and encourage with praise is key. 
 
You’ll be part of a team of teachers that operate throughout the year (48 weeks) to ensure continuous learning, development & progression with crash courses held throughout the school holidays. 
 
All of our teachers will need to hold a current Rescue Test or National Pool Lifeguard Qualification, but we do run regular internal training courses for this. 
 
We have hours to suit every person! Lessons currently run Tuesday to Sunday with 1-2-1 blocks available on Monday's.
