Play Streets are a low cost, valuable play opportunity that provide children and their community with a few hours each week to play out and socialise in a safe place.

We have helped to develop Northampton's very first Play Street in Spring Boroughs, Northampton, funded by Northamptonshire County Council's Community Action Grant.

Children, young people and their families have been having a wonderful time, meeting up, playing out and making friends! The Play Street on Crispin Street, between *Spring Lane Primary and the New Life buildings was developed in partnership with local volunteers within the communiuty, who now run the Play Street for themselves. Traditioanlly road closures to allow children to play out after school last for a couple of hours, and do not restrict access for residents who live on the street! The best thing of all is that Play Streets is FREE!!!

Join the revolution! Play Streets are back and you can make a difference in your local community! Find details of how you can use the Street Closure Application to create your very own Play Street.

We are on the look out for volunteers to help develop the project further in Northampton so please get in touch. Nominate your street! If you would like your very own Play Street, then please have a look at our Street Closure Application for advice and guidance.
